    Hey Liz!
I went to the BAWP writing camp almost two years ago, when I was entering 9th grade. It’s a good camp, although I’d recommend it to beginner writers who would like to experiment with a few different styles and have a lot of fun. We made crafts and for the first week we did a fair amount of poetry. What was nice is that by the end of the camp, each participant created a kind of scrapbook with their writings in it. I did enjoy it a lot, although by the end of the camp, I wished I’d have been able to finished one very good piece rather than the daily exercises they had us do. Also, some of the kids are not interested in or serious about writing. Still, I’d say it’s a good beginner camp for grades 4-7, or people who are beginners in creative writing and want to experiment with different styles.

Thanks Marisa! I guess it is good for beginners who need to try various writing. But you are right. For serious or “secondary” writers, they need to learn revision and how to work on one solid piece. Thanks for letting me know this about the Bay Area Writing Program. Liz
